Set the right goals

Set goals that are in line with your life purpose.  All your life goals (such as family, wellness, career, personal development and so on) need to be cohesive and support each other for long-term benefits.  If goals from different categories of your life are conflicting, then you’re likely to be demotivated and could stop working on them.

Goal-setting is an important process.  Set SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound).  If you prefer another method or framework, then go for it. You also need to review the relevance of your goals from time to time and make any changes accordingly.  One vital aspect is to have an action plan for success. Without action, your objectives are just dreams.
